Facilitating peer-to-peer exchanges on IPM strategies

Why should farmers share their IPM strategies ?

Changing practices is demanding for farmers: adopting new IPM strategies requires developing new technical knowledge and confidence. A known practice might need to be adapted to the farmer’s context. Enabling farmers to exchange together on their knowledge and experience is key to transfer innovative practices.

How does it work ?

Advisors and counsellors work in supporting farmers in their practice changes by:

  • Supporting farmers in acquiring new knowledge and developing technical skills adapted to their context
  • Facilitating peer-to-peer exchanges between farmers
